Need help deciding which laptop to purchase?

Holiday is just around the corner and the best deals on laptops are coming along with it! To some people making a purchase decision seem to be a real difficult task, with all those different choices out there, it is hard to tell which laptop to get without any experience. Here we can help you by breaking the process down into series of questions, by answering them, you will be able to make the right choice today. Here is what to do:

First, you need to answer yourself these questions:

  • 1. Purpose. What are you going to use it for? Is it for Work, Gaming, School Projects, and etc.?
  • 2. Budget. What is your budget? Are you willing to sacrifice performance to save some money?
  • 3. Brands. Do you have any preferred brands? DELL, HP, Apple, Lenovo, Microsoft, and etc.
  • 4. Screen Size. What is screen size will you need? 13’’, 14’’, 15’’, 17’’, and etc.
  • 5. OS. What operation system are you looking for? Windows (7, 10), MAC OS

Second, start looking for laptops with certain standard features and/or setup configurations to match with your answers in the first step:

  • 1. Memory: 8GB (Recommended, standard)
  • 2. Processor: Intel i5/i7, AMD
  • 3. Weight: Light weight (under 3 lbs.)
  • 4. Screen Resolution:

  • 5. Touch Screen or Non Touch Screen
    Touch Screen is usually more expensive than non-touch screen.
  • 6. Hard Drive Type
    Solid State Hard Drive (Recommended): Greatly increases the speed of your laptop.
    Mechanical Hard Drive (5400RPM, 7200RPM)
  • 7. Storage of Hard Drive
    256 GB (Recommended for SSD): For most people, 256GB will meet their needs.

  • 8. Graphic Card/Video Card
    For Gaming and graphical works: you need to look for a dedicate graphic card which will cost you more. Otherwise, most people are okay with the standard video processing unit that comes on the motherboard in the laptops.
